SI AGGIUNGONO GRANDI NOMI A RALLYLEGEND

Francois Delecour, Armin Schwarz, Romain Dumas, Gustavo Trelles, Patrick Snijers, Raymond Breen, papà dell’indimenticabile Craig, insieme ad altri fuoriclasse come i pluricampioni italiani Piero Longhi e Andrea Crugnola vanno ad arricchire l’elenco iscritti, ancora aperto e in attesa di ulteriori nomi di spicco del rallismo (e non solo) mondiale.

Repubblica di San Marino. Sono ancora aperte le iscrizioni a Rallylegend 2024, e tanti nomi di celebrati campioni si aggiungono ad un elenco già ricchissimo di fuoriclasse e macchine da sogno. Per un evento giunto alla edizione numero 22 che dal 10 al 13 ottobre riporterà nella Repubblica di San Marino piloti, navigatori, rombi, rumori e colori che hanno scritto, e continuano a scrivere, la storia dei rally.
Ai “big” già annunciati, si uniscono altri beniamini del pubblico dei rally.
Francois Delecour, vincitore in carriera di quattro rally del mondiale e vicecampione iridato nel 1993, torna a Rallylegend per deliziare gli spettatori con una Peugeot 306 Maxi. Disporrà invece di una spettacolare Porsche Carrera GT3 il suo connazionale Romain Dumas, pilota vincente sia in corse endurance che nei rally. Due volte vincitore alla 24 Ore di Le Mans, ma anche in tutte le gare endurance più famose, nel 2016 ha vinto il titolo Mondiale con la Porsche, in equipaggio con Lieb e Jani. Nei rally ha vinto quattro edizioni della famosa Pikes Peak e nel 2017 ha vinto il FIA R-GT Cup nel Mondiale Rally.
Carriera importante nel WRC come pilota ufficiale per Toyota, Mits ubishi, Ford, Skoda e Hyundai per il tedesco Armin Schwarz, che a Rallylegend, con alle note Peter Thul, Senior Director Sport di WRC Promoter, sarà tra i protagonisti dello special event per i 40 anni del titolo mondiale Audi con Stig Blomqvist, pilotando una Audi Quattro Coupè Gruppo A. Insieme a lui, a San Marino, il figlio Fabio Schwarz, classe 2005 con già quattro anni di rally nel curriculum, che sarà al via con una rara Hyundai Accent WRC.
Un passato importante nel World Rally Championship anche per l’uruguaiano Gustavo Trelles ricordato, tra i tanti successi, per i quattro titoli Produzione consecutivi dal 1996 al 1999. Ancora una volta a Rallylegend, di cui è innamorato, avrà a fianco il fido Jorge Del Buono, a bordo di una Subaru Impreza Gruppo A.
Anche il belga Patrick Snijers, campione europeo rally nel 1994, calcherà di nuovo le prove speciali della Repubblica di San Marino al volante di una Ford Sierra Cosworth nei colori Bastos.
Presenza sempre emozionante quella di Raymond Breen, al via con la sua Subaru Legacy. Un modo per onorare la memoria del forte e sfortunato figlio Craig, scomparso prematuramente ma sempre presente nel cuore degli appassionati. Anche Craig era molto legato a Rallylegend.
Parlando di campioni, due nomi importanti della storia dei rally italiani, anche recente, non hanno voluto mancare.
Piero Longhi, tricolore rally nel 2000 e nel 2005, ha deciso di partecipare con una Renault Clio Williams, mentre Andrea Crugnola, già tre volte campione italiano rally nel 2020, 2022 e 2023 e in corsa quest’anno per il quarto titolo, darà spettacolo con la Peugeot 106 Maxi.

MORE BIG NAMES CONFIRMED FOR RALLYLEGEND

Francois Delecour, Armin Schwarz, Romain Dumas, Gustavo Trelles, Patrick Snijers and Raymond Breen, father of the unforgettable Craig, along with other aces including multi-titled Italians Piero Longhi and Andrea Crugnola, add their names to the entry list, which remains open to big names on the world rallying stage and beyond.

Republic of San Marino. Registration for Rallylegend 2024 is still open, and numerous big names continue to be added to an already stellar list of champions and dream cars. The event, taking place on 10-13 October, has reached its 22nd edition and will see the Republic of San Marino pulsing with drivers, co-drivers, engines, noise and colours that have written, and continue to write, the history of rallying.
Joining the already confirmed big names are more rallying heroes.
Francois Delecour, the winner of four world rally events and 1993 world championship runner-up, returns to Rallylegend to delight the spectators with a Peugeot 306 Maxi. Taking to the wheel of a spectacular Porsche Carrera GT3 is fellow countryman Romain Dumas, a legendary name across both endurance and rallying. Two-time winner of the Le Mans 24 Hours, but also of the most famous endurance races, in 2016 he won the world title with Porsche, as part of a team with Lieb and Jani. In rallying, he has won four editions of the renowned Pikes Peak and, in 2017, he won the World Rally FIA R-GT Cup.
A factory driver for Toyota, Mitsubishi, Ford, Skoda and Hyundai, German Armin Schwarz boasts a long WRC career. Together with Peter Thul, Senior Director Sport at WRC Promoter, who will be on the pacenotes, Schwarz will take part in the special event to mark the 40th anniversary of Audi’s world title with Stig Blomqvist, taking to the wheel of a Group A Audi Quattro Coupè. Joining him in San Marino is son Fabio Schwarz, 19, who already has four years of rallying experience despite his tender age and will drive a rare Hyundai Accent WRC.
Another driver with a significant history in the World Rally Championship is Uruguayan Gustavo Trelles, whose memorable victories include four consecutive Production titles from 1996 to 1999. Returning to his beloved Rallylegend, he will be joined by loyal Jorge Del Buono, behind the wheel of a Subaru Impreza Gruppo A.
Belgian driver Patrick Snijers, 1994 European rally champion, will once again take on the special stages in the Republic of San Marino with a Ford Sierra Cosworth in Bastos colours.
It will be another emotional outing for Raymond Breen, lining up with his Subaru Legacy. A way to honour the memory of late son Craig. Gone too soon, Craig lives on in the heart of the fans and was also closely linked to Rallylegend.
Speaking of champions, two important names in Italian rallying history join the list.
Piero Longhi, Italian rally champion in 2000 and 2005, has decided to take part with a Renault Clio Williams, while Andrea Crugnola, already a three-time champion in 2020, 2022 and 2023 and on track for a fourth title this year, will put on a show with the Peugeot 106 Maxi.
