Una collezione di titoli internazionali e nazionali tra i grandi nomi al via di Rallylegend 2023. Ma anche personaggi di spicco del motorsport di ieri e di oggi, che si cimentano, una tantum al volante o al quaderno delle note.

Ci sono le stelle del Mondiale Rally di ieri e di oggi. Ma anche tanti bei nomi che hanno dato lustro ai rally un po’ in tutto il mondo affollano, come sempre, l’elenco degli ammessi a Rallylegend 2023. Centottanta equipaggi provenienti da ben 24 diverse Nazioni, anche extra europee. Spicca più di sempre la partecipazione sammarinese, affezionata all’evento, con 14 equipaggi biancocelesti, cui si sommano altre 10 unità in formazioni miste.

DA TONY FASSINA AD ANDREA CRUGNOLA, LA STORIA VINCENTE DELL’ITALIA DA RALLY
Immancabile con la sua bianca Lancia Stratos delle imprese memorabili, “Tony” Fassina, campione europeo e italiano negli anni ’80, fa ruggire di nuovo il sei cilindri Ferrari a Rallylegend. A riscostruire quell’epoca bellissima dei rally “Lucky” Battistolli, con Fabrizia Pons alle note, più volte campioni continentali e nazionali nel recente periodo, ma anche protagonisti di vertice nell’epoca d’oro, a San Marino con la Subaru Legacy, Federico Ormezzano, con quella Lancia Stratos con cui ha vinto, prima di passare alla mitica Talbot Lotus, poi Mauro Sipsz, al tempo re del Gruppo 1 e a Rallylegend con la sua Lancia Stratos che condividerà con l’estemporaneo navigatore Alessandro Alunni Bravi, team principal del team Sauber Alfa Romeo in Formula 1. Torna sul sedile di destra Massimo De Antoni, tricolore con Tonino Tognana nel 1982, e naviga il giovane figlio Edoardo in una Ascona del 1974, mentre Piergiorgio Bedini, anche lui “boss” del Gruppo 1 di qualche anno fa, sarà al volante di una Ford Escort Mk2. Piero Longhi, due volte campione italiano nei primi anni 2000, che torna a guidare una Clio S1600 e Luca Pedersoli, che vanta un importante palmares di titoli nazionali e che sarà navigato, nella Citroen C3 WRC Plus, da Andrea Adamo, ingegnere di talento e in anni recenti team principal Hyundai Motorsport nel Mondiale Rally, fanno parte di una generazione successiva di rallisti. Il cerchio si chiude con Andrea Crugnola, tre volte campione italiano negli ultimi quattro anni, a Rallylegend con una BMW M3 e con Alberto Battistolli, giovane e talentuoso figlio d’arte, che sta costruendosi una carriera interessante e che darà spettacolo con una Delta Integrale. “Fuori concorso” Paolo Diana, con la sua Fiat 131 Racing “vitaminizzata”: suo il “campionato dei traversi d’autore” assegnato d’ufficio dai suoi tanti fans.

PALMARES DI PRESTIGIO E NOMI IMPORTANTI TRA I TANTI EQUIPAGGI STRANIERI
Nel suo passato agonistico ci sono le vittorie in vari campionati irlandesi. Ray Breen, oggi collezionista di vetture storiche, condivideva la sua grande passione con il figlio Craig, tragicamente scomparso nell’aprile di quest’anno mentre era impegnato in test in Croazia con il team Hyunday. “Per noi è una bellissima vacanza”. Così Craig Breen amava definire Rallylegend e suo padre Ray non ha voluto mancare alla edizione 2023, dove sarà al via con una Subaru Legacy. Ci sarà anche Jean Claude Andruet, altro mito dei rally, al volante di una rara Matra Simca Cg-Mc. Presenza immancabile a Rallylegend, quest’anno su Subaru Impreza, quella di Gustavo Trelles e Jorge Del Buono, equipaggio uruguagio/argentino praticamente imbattibile nel Mondiale Produzione di fine anni ’90. Alister Mc Rae, nel suo ricco palmares, annovera la vittoria in un Campionato Asia Pacifico. Il fratello dell’indimenticabile Colin sta seguendo i primi passi agonistici del figlio Max McRae, a Rallylegend con una Subaru Impreza. Subaru Impreza anche per l’argentino Marcos Ligato, campione nazionale ma anche tra i protagonisti nel Produzione WRC nei primi anni 2000. Tre campionati svizzeri brillano nella bacheca di Sebastien Carron (Skoda Fabia R5), ben cinque i campionati irlandesi negli anni ’80 e ‘90 preda di Austin Mc Hale (Ford Focus WRC), ancora Irlanda per il titolo nazionale su asfalto nel 2000 di Andrew Nesbitt, a Rallylegend con una rara Mitsubishi Lancer WRC ex ufficiale.

SABRINA SALERNO MADRINA DI RALLYLEGEND 2023
Madrina di Rallylegend 2023 sarà Sabrina Salerno. Sabrina, cantante, attrice e presentatrice di successo, sarà presente al Rally Village nella giornata di sabato 14 ottobre. Una carriera importante, quella di Sabrina Salerno. Nasce come cantante ed è dell’86 il suo primo singolo “Sexy Girl” che entra nella Hit Parade italiana e tedesca. Prosegue con “Boys”, al primo posto nelle hit europee e sudamericane, in Inghilterra il singolo “All of me” è ai primi posti. In Italia il singolo “My Chico”, di cui Sabrina è co-autrice, si posiziona al primo posto. Nella sua carriera, Sabrina ha venduto oltre 20 milioni di dischi nel mondo, collezionando vari dischi d’oro e di platino, cui si aggiunge, nel 1989, un prestigioso “grammy”. Sabrina è anche attrice teatrale e cinematografica. Partecipa, tra gli altri, al film “Jolly Blu” degli 883, alla pellicola francese “Start 80” con la regia di Frèdèric Forestier e prodotto dal premio Oscar Thomas Langmann e, più recentemente, a “Modalità aereo” per la regia di Fausto Brizzi.  A febbraio 2020 Sabrina è stata una delle co-conduttrici, al fianco di Amadeus, del 70° festival di Sanremo.

The winners of many international and national titles are set to attend Rallylegend 2023, but also motorsport stars past and present, all coming together whether behind the wheel or on the notes. Sabrina Salerno the patroness of Rallylegend 2023.

World rally stars past and present, but also a long list of names that have contributed to rallying around the world. All these and more are set to attend Rallylegend 2023. 180 teams from twenty-four different countries, even from outside Europe. The number of San Marino teams taking part in the event is outstanding, with fourteen in total, in addition to ten mixed teams.

FROM TONY FASSINA TO ANDREA CRUGNOLA, ITALY’S GLORIOUS RALLYING HISTORY
European and Italian champion of the 80s and a legend behind the wheel of his white Lancia Stratos, “Tony” Fassina will be back with the roaring six-cylinder Ferrari engine at Rallylegend. Also re-evoking that wonderful age of rallying is “Lucky” Battistolli, with Fabrizia Pons on the notes, continental and national champions on several occasions in recent years, but also stars of the golden age, at San Marino with the Subaru Legacy. They will be joined by Federico Ormezzano, with the Lancia Stratos with which he won before switching to the legendary Talbot Lotus; Mauro Sipsz, the king of Group 1 at that time, who will share his Lancia Stratos with improvised co-driver Alessandro Alunni Bravi, team principal of the Sauber Alfa Romeo team in Formula 1. Back in the right seat is Massimo De Antoni, national champ with Tonino Tognana in 1982, navigating his young son Edoardo in a 1974 Ascona while Piergiorgio Bedini, also a Group 1 “boss” a few years ago, will be at the wheel of a Ford Escort Mk2. Piero Longhi, two-time Italian champion in the early 2000s, will be again driving a Clio S1600, while Luca Pedersoli, who boasts an important collection of national titles, will be joined in the Citroen C3 WRC Plus by co-driver Andrea Adamo, a talented engineer and, in recent years, Hyundai Motorsport team principal in World Rally. The circle is completed with Andrea Crugnola, three-time Italian champion over the last four years, who will be at Rallylegend with a BMW M3 and with Alberto Battistolli, a talented young driver following his father footsteps, who is building an interesting career and will be putting on a show with a Delta Integrale.
“Hors concours” Paolo Diana, with his modified Fiat 131 Racing, voted the champion of slide by his many fans.

PRESTIGIOUS ACHIEVEMENTS AND IMPORTANT NAMES AMONG THE MANY INTERNATIONAL TEAMS
The winner of various Irish championships, Ray Breen, who is now a collector of historic vehicles, shared this great passion with son Craig, who tragically died in April this year while taking part in a test in Croatia with the Hyundai team. “It’s a wonderful holiday for us”. This is how Craig Breen used to describe Rallylegend and his father Ray didn’t want to miss the 2023 edition, where he will be driving a Subaru Legacy. Also in attendance is Jean Claude Andruet, another rallying legend, at the wheel of a rare Matra Simca Cg-Mc. The Uruguayan-Argentinian team made up of Gustavo Trelles and Jorge Del Buono, almost unbeatable in the Production World Championship of the late 90s, will be aboard a Subaru Impreza. Among his many achievements, Alister McRae boasts a win in the Asia Pacific Championship. The brother of the late Colin is following son Max McRae as he begins his sporting career and who will be at Rallylegend with a Subaru Impreza. Also driving a Subaru Impreza is Argentinian Marcos Ligato, national champion and a star of WRC Production in the early 2000s. Sebastien Carron (Skoda Fabia R5) is the winner of three Swiss championships, Austin Mc Hale (Ford Focus WRC) amassed five Irish titles in the 80s and 90s, while Andrew Nesbitt, the winner of the Irish national track title in 2000, will be at Rallylegend with a rare ex-works Mitsubishi Lancer WRC.

SABRINA SALERNO PATRONESS OF RALLYLEGEND 2023
The patroness of Rallylegend 2023 is Sabrina Salerno. Singer, actress and presenter, Sabrina will be in the Rally Village on Saturday 14 October. Sabrina Salerno has enjoyed a successful career. She started out as a singer, releasing her first single, “Sexy Girl”, in 1986, which did well in the Italian and German charts. She continued with “Boys”, which reached number 1 in Europe and South America, while “All of me” did very well in the UK. In Italy, “My Chico”, of which Sabrina was a co-writer, reached number one. Throughout her career, Sabrina has sold more than 20 million records around the world, amassing various gold and platinum discs, as well as a prestigious “grammy” in 1989. Sabrina has also appeared on screen and stage. She featured in the 883 film “Jolly Blu”, French film “Start 80”, directed by Frèdèric Forestier and produced by Oscar Thomas Langmann and, more recently, in “Modalità aereo”, directed by Fausto Brizzi.  In February 2020, Sabrina was a co-presenter, alongside Amadeus, of the 70th Sanremo festival.
