Tixier crowned 2014 FIM MX2 World Champion
LEON (Mexico), 14 September 2014 – Give it up for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jordi Tixier! The Frenchman was the star performer today at MXGP of Leon as he put in one of the most phenomenal performances of his career to claim his first ever FIM Motocross World Championship title.
Coming into this season as the vice world champion, Tixier found himself facing a lot of criticism as he battled through an early season slump. After failing to land inside the top five at the first four rounds of the 2014 FIM Motocross World Championship, the French sensation soon found his legs and turned his ship around with his first podium of the season coming at round five in Bulgaria.
In what has turned out to be an unforgettable season for the twenty-two year old, he has managed to rack up ten podium finishes, three race wins and two Grand Prix wins to be crowned a FIM Motocross World Champion for the first time in his career.
