CASTELLETTO DI BRANDUZZO (ITALY), 1 May 2010 – A superb Thierry Van Den Bosch left his mark on the opening day of the FIM SuperMoto World Championship when he stormed to the top of the time sheets this afternoon. The Aprilia racer will enter tomorrow’s Superpole alongside Davide Gozzini, Thomas Chareyre and Ivan Lazzarini completing today’s top four.

In the UEM series Uros Nastran was the fastest in the Open class while Lukas Höllbacher was the fastest in the S3 class.

S1

Van Den Bosch of PMR H2O Aprilia Racing came out on top of a battled time practice as the four time World Champion from France was the sole Superider to break the 1 minute 41 seconds barrier. VDB seems to have made a successful comeback to Aprilia but tomorrow’s three heats will be the final test of Van Den Bosch’s strength.

Taking a close second was Gozzini of 747 Motorsport TM Racing Factory. The Italian –still chasing his maiden World Title- is pumped to be starting the season on home soil and will try to come out on top of the pack tomorrow.

His team mate Thomas Chareyre, mounting on a TM after several years on the factory Husqvarna, was third fastest ahead of other Italian Lazzarini of HM Honda Racing.

Tomorrow morning these first four Superiders will take part in the Superpole defining the places on the front row of this first Grand Prix on GoldenTyre rubbers.

The second row instead will start with Belgian Seel of Suzuki Valenti Lux Performance who took fifth in the final part of the session.

Sixth was Hiemer ahead of Bussei while the Husqvarna CH Racing duo Hermunen and Adrien Chareyre struggled. Chareyre took eighth while Hermunen was a bitter tenth.
