THE RAIN DID NOT STOP THOMAS CHAREYRE AT THE GP OF PIEMONTE

BUSCA (ITALY) 30 April – A rainy day was the setting of spectacular races and several twists and turns. The multiple-time World Champion Thomas Chareyre stepped on the podium courtesy of an excellent performance, followed by Marc Reiner Schmidt and young Steve Bonnal.

The Fast Race was full of dramatic turns of events that took place under heavy rain. Lukas Hollbacher (KTM MTR) started from the sixth place and pulled away at the start but slipped and almost hit Thomas Chareyre (TC4R1 Racing Team). The multiple-time World Champion enjoyed riding on the wet track and created a fair gap over Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing TM Factory).

Thomas Chareyre ruled the whole race but slipped with two laps to go, after the main straight, and it took him several seconds before getting back on track. In the meantime, Marc Reiner Schmidt had taken the lead of the race and triumphed at the finish line. Chareyre qualified second. Steve Bonnal (TC4R1 Racing Team) and Markus Class (Husqvarna) battled it out for the third spot which went to Bonnal as well as the victory of the Rookie class.

The Fast Race sets the order of riders for the Super Final. Marc Reiner Schmidt (L30 Racing TM Factory) was first and Thomas Chareyre (TC4R1 Racing Team) second. The French rider took the lead in front of Schmidt, but the German rival tried to chase the race leader without ever being able to reach him. Chareyre opened a gap and left rivals behind, winning the race with a solid margin.

Marc Reiner Schmidt was second and Steve Bonnal came home with the third position and the victory of the Rookie class. Elia Sammartin was once again the best Italian rider. The podium of the Rookie class went not only to the winner Steve Bonal, but also to Romeo Fiorentino (Gazza Racing) and Tim Slazai (Husqvarna).
