Adrien and Thomas Chareyre fastest at wet Pas de la Casa

PAS DE LA CASA (ANDORRA), 19 September 2009 – Thomas Chareyre snatched the top of the S1 time sheets from VBD, going down towards the end of the session, courtesy of a stunning last lap. Adrien Chareyre instead was the fastest in the S2 class.

In the UEM series Porfiri of the Open class won the qualifying heat joining the Open and S3 classes. In the S3 the first to cross the finish was Karanyotov.

At 2400 metres above the sea level the weather was cloudy and a slight rain left the cold track wet for the whole day.

S1

Husqvarna CH Racing’s Thomas Chareyre topped an eventful qualifying session as he moved up to the top at his very last attempt. Chareyre started off strong but his number one bike stopped for technical issues. It took some time before the Frenchman could take to the track again and clock the quickest time.

747 Motorsport TM Factory Racing’s Van Den Bosch took his time to get to grips with the tricky course, then stormed from outside the top 10 until first at mid session. The Championship leader crashed towards the end of the session and had no possibility to try and defend the lead.

HM Honda Racing’s Lazzarini took the third quickest time but struggled at the beginning of the session; the Italian ended ahead of wet weather specialist Hermunen and Seel who rounded off the top five.

British Winstanley also went down towards the end of the session and took eighth fastest.
