Amazing day for the second round of the Internazionali d’Italia MX Selle Dalla Valle Series 2017. More than 10,000 spectators came from all over Italy to admire the champions engaged in all classes in the race. The landlord Tony Cairoli (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team) was the absolute star performer on a track made slippery by the falling rain, the Sicilian took the win in both MX1 and Elite class, repeating the successes of seven days ago in Sardinia.
125
In 125 Gianluca Facchetti (Husqvarna Maddii) continues is domination, and with a first and a second place wins the second round in a row. On the second step of the podium Luka Milec (Yamaha), fourth in the first moto and first in the second, on Facchetti and Manucci (Maddii Husqvarna), who finished third overall with a second and a third place. In the championship Facchetti guide with 920 points, on Manucci 840 and Emilio Scuteri 520.
MX2
In MX2 Julien Lieber (KTM) dominate the day; the Belgian started behind Jorge Garcia Prado (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team), that grabbed Just1 hole-shot, than followed the Galician, attacking and passing him at half moto, going to win easy on Michele Cervellin ( Honda HRC MX2), fastest during the timed practice. The Honda rider battled with Samuele Bernardini (TM) and then with Prado, that finished in third place. In the standings Prado (200p.), leads on Cervellin (160p.) and Paturel (155p.)
MX1
In MX1 the Sicilian start second, behind Romain Febvre (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory), author of the Just1 hole-shot, passing soon and leading the race to the finish line. Behind him Jeremy Van Horebeek, overtaken the team mate during the first lap, holding the position until the finish line as Tim Gajser finished third like in Riola and manages to pass Febvre at half moto. Cairoli guide so the MX1 standings with 240 points, followed by Van Horebbek with 200 and 160 Gajser.
ELITE
Incredible show in the Elite class, reserved to the strongest riders of the MX2 and MX1 classes, with five riders able to win until the end. Antonio Cairoli, author of Just1 hole-shot, slipped after the first lap and leaved the lead to his team mate Glenn Coldenhoff (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team), who tries to escape to Tim Gajser (Honda HRC MXGP) and Jeremy Van Horebeek (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory), while Romain Febvre precedes the eight-time world motocross champion climbed to fifth. On the seventh lap Cairoli breaks the delay and launches an attack to Febvre, passing in the same corner that had seen him fall. In the next lap the Sicilian places passed Van Horebeek, while Gajser passed Coldenhoff and takes the lead. The world champion of MXGP lasts only one lap when Cairoli attacked him and passes, going on to win the fourth consecutive manche of the year. On the finish line Tony is first on Van Horebeek, Febvre and Coldenhoff while Gajser finishes fifth after a crash in the final laps. The Elite class classification sees Cairoli in the lead with 240 points, ahead of Van Horebeek with 200 and 140 Gajser.
