CLS Kawasaki Monster Energy Pro Circuit’s Tommy Searle obtained his first race win in MX1 today by dominating the qualifying race from beginning to end. The British rider had been the fastest rider in the pre-qualifying time practice, so he was really confident for today’s qualifying race. Searle succeeded to take the holeshot and he pushed really hard in the first stages of the race in order to open a big gap with the rest of the riders, but after a few laps he realized he had to slow down in order to keep a consistent rhythm during the whole race. By the end of the qualifying race Gautier Paulin was right behind Searle’s back wheel, but the British managed to stand the pressure and crossed the finish line first.
Kawasaki Racing Team’s Gautier Paulin started second behind Searle and he did a consistent moto behind the British rider. By the middle of the heat the French rider was faster than Searle and he gained some ground. With two laps to go Paulin made the last effort to pass him but in the end he had to settle down with the second position. Paulin was feeling really good today, so he is confident for tomorrow’s main races and he will do his best to be back on the podium.
The third position was for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli, who managed to make an incredible recovery from his initial tenth position. The Italian had a really good jump from the gate but he had to go wide in the first corner in order not to crash with Jeremy Van Horebeek. However, Cairoli managed to find the good lines to move up with the front group after the first laps of the heat. With the 2-laps board up Cairoli overtook Clement Desalle at the finish jump and tried to catch Searle and Paulin, but the Italian crossed the finish line third, two seconds behind the British and one second behind the French.
Rockstar Energy Suzuki World’s Clement Desalle had a good start and after the first two laps the Belgian rider was already third. His compatriot Ken De Dycker was racing behind him and he managed to overtook him, but Desalle did not give up and he finally passed him back. However, Desalle could not stop Cairoli to overtake him and the Suzuki rider crossed the finish line fourth.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Ken De Dycker started around the seventh position but as well as his teammate he managed to move up with the front group and by the middle of the qualifying heat the Belgian was racing in third. De Dycker did his best to defend his position, but with four minutes to go Desalle and Cairoli overtook him and De Dycker ended fifth, which gives him a good gate pick for tomorrow’s races.
Home rider Max Nagl had a really good start in second but he made a mistake and dropped down to the ninth place. The German rider was able to recover his rhythm and he finished sixth ahead of Kevin Strijbos and Evgeny Bobryshev. Joel Roelants was ninth and David Philippaerts completed the top ten.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings was very satisfied for having been able to obtain his sixth pole position of the season, as he has not been very lucky during the qualifying races. The Dutch rider was fourth behind Jordi Tixier, Glenn Coldenhoff and José Butrón after the first corner, but by the end of the lap Herlings was already leading the race. The red plate holder admitted that he struggled a lot with the heat, but it did not stop him to dominate the race and crossed the finish line twenty five second ahead of his teammate Tixier.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jordi Tixier took the holeshot of the qualifying race and he tried to keep the lead, but Herlings was much faster and overtook him. From then onwards Tixier was able to keep a consistent rhythm and he finished second with a comfortable advantage over Glenn Coldenhoff.
Standing Construct KTM’s Glenn Coldenhoff found himself really comfortable in the German track and after being the second fastest rider in the pre-qualifying practice he rode a solid qualifying race.
