Gran Premio d’Europa SUPERMOTO le prove di qualificazione Ivan Lazzarini and Adrien Chareyre took today’s S1 and S2 poles respectively at a sweltering Latina.

Lazzarini and Chareyre storm to pole at hot Latina

LATINA (ITALY), 5 September 2009 – Ivan Lazzarini and Adrien Chareyre took today’s S1 and S2 poles respectively at a sweltering Latina.

Under the Italian heat Thomas Chareyre took second as Husqvarna team mate Hermunen completed the S1 top three. In S2 Gozzini was second ahead of Bartolini.

Kevin Wuerterle and Teo Monticelli took the S3 and Open poles through a qualifying moto.

S1

After a slow start to the weekend HM Honda Racing’s man Lazzarini stormed to pole in the S1 class by snatching the top spot from Thomas Chareyre.

The Frenchman of Husqvarna CH Racing, who missed the British GP due to an injury he sustained in the event’s practice, was back to action in top form. Chareyre dominated both free practices but was forced to settle for second after British GP winner Lazzarini’s lap.

Chareyre’s team mate Hermunen ended third fastest ahead of Championship leader Van Den Bosch of the 747 Motorsport TM Factory Racing team.

Magic Bike Evolution’s Ravaglia completed the top five onboard his twin cylinder Aprilia machine.

Mounting on Latina’s podium in 2006, Seel struggled today as he ended seventh behind Bussei.

Japanese riders Matsumoto and Kaneko were 10th and 11th respectively.

Championship leader Adrien Chareyre absolutely dominated the opening day of the European Grand Prix. The defending Champion topped all sessions on the extremely hot track today with Gozzini always following in second.

Husqvarna CH Racing’s Chareyre fine tuned his lap times until he got to pole in the qualifying session. 747 Motorsport TM Factory Racing’s Gozzini remained in second in all sessions but he shaved off the gap session by session.

Pergetti’s Bartolini took third fastest onboard his Husqvarna though he was more than one second off the leading duo’s pace.

Borella took fourth quickest with Mariani rounding off the top five.

Iddon struggled and finished sixth ahead of Delepine.

UEM

Round three of the UEM S3 and Open classes started off today with a hard fought qualifying race selecting tomorrow’s starting grid.

In the S3 class series leader Kevin Wuerterle wrapped up the pole ahead of his sister Janina while Karanyotov wrapped up the third spot.

In the Open class Monticelli took pole ahead of his first race in defence of the red plate. Vorlicek was third ahead of Sconfietti.
