In Motocross

LA RIOJA (ARGENTINA), 1 May 2010 – First day of the FIM MX3 World Championship in Argentina is over. Italian rider Alex Salvini (Husqvarna Cross 2 R) proved that he really likes South American tracks. He took the pole position. The owner of the second best time is home rider Victor Dario Arco (Yamaha), Slovenian rider Matevz Irt (Husqvarna Tecno B) made third time of the Qualifying Practice.

The Qualifying day in La Rioja was hot, it was over 30°C. Already a day before the main race many spectators came to La Rioja to see the best MX3 riders in the World. And they had really a lot to see. Their best home rider Victor Dario Arco was the fastest in the first morning free practice. In the second free practice Arco finished third and everybody was waiting what their hero will make in the Qualifying practice. Arco took the second position. That is a good announcement of Argentine, who is still looking towards his first MX3 podium.

Only Italian Alex Salvini was faster than Arco. Husqvarna rider likes the fast track in La Rioja and the main goal for him is to gain some points to Carlos Campano. MX3 Championship leader Campano finished fourth in the Qualifying practice. “The track is fast and there are many stones on it, so I was riding more carefully today. I like the ambience and people here in Argentina. They speak Spanish here so I don’t have any problems. The time difference does not affect on me so I expect a good race tomorrow,” said Campano. Matevz Irt from Slovenia finished third and he will also attack the top three in the race. French rider Milko Potisek (Honda) was fifth, Pablo Quintanilla (Honda) from Chile sixth and second best home rider Luis Correa (Kawasaki) finished top seven.
