SENKVICE (SLOVAKIA), 20 June 2010 – Carlos Campano has a red plate again. Spanish rider won the MX3 round of Slovakia and took seven points advantage in front of Alex Salvini who finished third. Second was Milko Potisek from Franc
It was another excited weekend. Seventh round for the FIM MX3 World Championship was full of roundabouts. Carlos Campano (Team Yamaha Andalucia) took the holeshot and was leading for a short time, because Matevz Irt (Husqvarna Tecno B) came in front. Irt was leading about ten minutes and his advantage in front of Campano was already big. But then when his bike stopped and Irt could not finish the race. So Campano came in the lead and won the first race. Alex Salvini (Husqvarna Cross 2 R) came to Slovakia with the red plate and he was four points in front of Campano. But meanwhile the Slovak weekend was successful for Campano, it was not successful for Salvini. Italian crashed at the beginning of the first race, broke front break and lightly injured the knee. So Salvini finished only tenth and lost the red plate in the first race. French rider Milko Potisek (Honda) had a great first race, he was fighting with Campano for the lead and finished second. Third was Martin Zerava (UFO Racing).
Salvini did not have a time to take some rest during both races that the knee would be better, but he was decided to make a top result in the second race to take some points to Campano. Italian Husqvarna rider took the holeshot and remained on top till the end. Milko Potisek had a successful Sunday. In the second race he was fast again and finished third. Second was Carlos Campano, who almost stucked at start. That did not confuse him and Campano progressed almost to the top. Only Salvini was faster than Spanish rider.
Campano became the winner of the Slovak round and took the red plate again. Milko Potisek finished second. Salvini was third although he finished tenth in the first race. Czech riders finished top five. Martin Zerava was fourth and Jiri Cepelak (R.S.C. Italia Corsc) was fifth.
Some changes happened in the MX3 World Championship Classification. Campano and Salvini changed positions. Irt lost third place because he did not take any points this time. Zerava is now third with seven points in front of Irt. Potisek progressed to fifth place in the Championship Classification. French rider overtake Dario Arco (Yamaha Argentina), who finished twelfth today.
Eight round of the FIM MX3 World Championship will be in La Baneza – Spain on the July 4.
RIDER’S COMMENTS
1st CARLOS CAMPANO (Spain): “After I had some problems in previous round in Holice I was training a lot during the week and I had better feeling this weekend. In first race I took the holeshot then some riders passed me but I took back the lead. In second race I had a trouble at starting gate and my start was bad, I was only seventh. Then I also crashed and I had to work hard to improve my position. I knew Alex is fast and I did not want to risk too much because I already had several crashes during the weekend so I was satisfied also with the second position. I took the red plate again and that is important.”
2nd MILKO POTISEK (France): “This is my second podium in the MX3 World Championship, that’s great. The day was really excited. In first race I was fighting with Campano but he was faster. Second race was more difficult, Salvini and Campano were in front and I could not ride faster than for the third place. But anyway I made second result overall. I wish to continue that way.”
3rd ALEX SALVINI (Italy): “I had a big crash at the beginning of the first race and it was not easy to continue because I got strong blow in my knee and it was very painful. I also broke front break and I could not come back to top ten. Second race was even more difficult because knee really hurt me. During the race when knee became warmer I felt better. Now I am seven points behind Campano and I lost the red plate. We will see what will happen in Spain in two weeks. I have never been in La Baneza so I don’t know the track.”
