CAMPIONATO MONDIALE MX3 ED EUROPEO MX2 MX1 Mickael Pichon (France), Andrea Cervellin (Italy), Jernej Irt (Slovenia) and Michele Cervellin (Italy) are winners of the Saturday’s Qualifying sessions in Castelnau de Levis.

Pichon wins home pole in France

CASTELNAU DE LEVIS (FRANCE), 10 April 2010 – Mickael Pichon (France), Andrea Cervellin (Italy), Jernej Irt (Slovenia) and Michele Cervellin (Italy) are winners of the Saturday’s Qualifying sessions in Castelnau de Levis.

There was a great sunny day. Three home French riders finished top five. Mickael Pichon took the pole position in the FIM MX3 World Championship Qualifying practice. French Honda rider was the fastest already in both mornings free practices. His best time in Qualifications was only one more proof that Pichon was dominating the first day at the second MX3 event. Italian Alex Salvini (Husqvarna Cross 2 R) was always behind Pichon and finished second in the Qualifying practice.

Two French were following. Fabien Izoird (Suzuki) was third and fifth MX3 rider of the season 2009 Christophe Martin (Husqvarna) was fourth. Matevz Irt (Husqvarna) from Slovenia finished top five. Carlos Campano (Yamaha), the winner of the opening MX3 event from a week ago had problems with the bike and did not ride the whole Qualifying practice. Campano was sixth.

Riders of the UEM EMX2 European Championship were riding two Qualifying practices. Winner of the first Qualifying race was Italian rider Andrea Cervellin (Husqvarna Cross 2 R), the teammate of Alex Salvini. Cervellin was not in front at the start, he took the pole position with the conclusive racing. Two Italians were behind Cervellin. Giacomo Del Segato was second and his teammate Ivo Monticelli finished third.

Husqvarna Team Cross 2 R took also the win in the second EMX2 Qualifying Race. Slovenian rider Jernej Irt won it in front of Greman Dennis Ulrich (Honda) and French Robin Kappel (KTM). Kappel took the lead but Irt progressed fast and soon he took the leading position. As it looks like after the Qualifying practice, both Husqvarna riders can finish high tomorrow. There will be a big fight for the second win of the season, as also other riders are desirous of success.

This weekend is first event of the EMX150 European Championship for riders, who are riding Honda bikes. Michele Cervellin from Italy took the opening pole. Second was Johan Remmelg from Sweden and third Adam Sterry from Great Britain.
