ASM Motorsport Team, battling in all the fronts
Montgat (Barcelona) On July 19, 2010. The Spanish team ASM Motorsport comes to the equator of the season adding several absolute victories and with options to fight until the end in all the championships in which his pilots are taking part. Two consecutive victories in the Spanish Cup of Historical Cars do that Manuel Bobes and Antonio Sainz, are leader’s in this championship, adding the Ferran Font’s second position in FIA European Historic Rally Championship.
The recently victories in the Legend Historic Rally of Antonio Sainz and in the Avilés Rally for Manuel Bobes, joined his two third positions, do that both pilots of ASM Motorsport head the general tied to points. The contest is interrupted for two months due to the summer period and the competition being taken again in the middle of September by the dispute of the Historical Rally of Galicia, to continue with the Rally of Spain (08-09/10), the Montes Universals Rally (23-24/10) and finishing with the Vasco-Navarro Rally one in the middle of November.
At international level, ASM Motorsport has achieved important successes as forceful victory of Juha Kankkunen in the Portugal Revival Rally, or the first position obtained by Ferran Font in the one that is possibly the hardest test of the year, the Historic Cyprus Rally, round that was inaugurating the FIA European Historic Rally Championship, and where nowadays the Andorran pilot occupies the second position. This championship will be resumed in Finland at the beginning of August coinciding with the Lahti Rally, going immediately to Italy where it will dispute the Alpi Orientali Rally. Finally we cannot forget the scolded victory achieved by Alex Sabater in Liérganes Rally. Plus the mentioned ones rallies, ASM Motorsport also has foreseen to dispute the Andorra’s Rally in the middle of September.
