CLAP DE FIN SUR L’AFRICA ECO RACE 2024
Ce dimanche 14 janvier 2024, comme le veut la tradition depuis la création de l’AFRICA ECO RACE, c’est au Lac Rose à Dakar que s’est conclue cette 15ème édition. Une véritable fête que ce défilé des lauréats et finishers sur le podium mis en œuvre par la Fédération Sénégalaise Auto Moto, organisme hôte de cette manifestation. Une cérémonie précédée par la traditionnelle spéciale du Lac Rose longue de 22 km, allant de la plage de Niokob au mythique plan d’eau dont les motos, autos et camions encore en course ont fait le tour. Un dernier baroude d’honneur qui réserve toutefois, chaque année des surprises.
Dans la catégorie Moto, l’ensemble des pilotes de l’AFRICA ECO RACE 2024 avait décidé de mettre à l’honneur l’un d’entre eux à savoir
le pilote handisport Nicola DUTTO. Pour se faire, les motards se sont mis derrière l’Italien et ses deux anges gardiens qui l’ont accompagné tout au long du rallye et ils l’ont laissé ouvrir et remporter cet ultime secteur chronométré. Une façon de rendre hommage à ce sportif hors du commune qui a parcouru les presque 6000 km du parcours sanglé sur sa KTM équipée d’un arceau protégeant ses jambes en cas de chute.
Après la course, les trois premiers pilotes au scratch, l’Italien Jacopo CERRUTI sur APRILA aussi 1er des Multicylindres -1000 CC, son compatriote Alessandro BOTTURI également 1er Vétéran et l’Andorran Pol TARRES sur YAMAHA ont reçu les magnifiques trophées en bronze. Ensuite, les vainqueurs des différentes catégories ont également été récompensés à l’image du Suisse Alexandre VAUDAN 1er en – de 450 CC, mais aussi 1er du Challenge Rookie Rider By Acerbis sur KTM, Patrice CARILL
ON 1er du Challenge Motul Xtreme Rider sur KTM, l’Italien Giovanni STIGLIANO 1er en + de 450 CC sur HUSQVARNA, l’Espagnol Juan PEDRERO 1er des Multicylindres + de 1000 CC sur HARLEY DAVIDSON sans oublier la Britannique Vanessa RUCK 1ère pilote féminine sur KTM. Enfin, tous les pilotes finishers ont reçu une médaille en bronze symbolisant l’exploit d’avoir su rester dans le classement.
Sur quatre roues, les Français Gautier PAULIN et Remi BOULANGER, vainqueurs du général, ont logiquement été les premiers à hisser leur SSV APACHE sur le podium pour recevoir les deux trophées en bronze et les deux trophées de la catégorie SSV T3 U. Ensuite, est venu le tour des Belges Pascal FERYN et Kurt KEYSERS, 2ème du Rallye et 1er des 4×4 Essence sur leur TOYOTA alors qu’en 3ème position, les Espagnols Carlos VENTO et Carlos RUIZ MORENO ont également conduit à la victoire le CAN AM en T4.
Le Tchèque Tomas TOMECEK a été réco
mpensé pour sa 5ème victoire dans la catégorie camion au volant de son TATRA. Les Français Frédéric HENRICY et Eric BERSEY se sont imposés dans le challenge SSV EXTREME RACE sur POLARIS, les Hollandais Teun STAM et Rene BARGEMAN ont gagné en 4X4 Diesel sur TOYOTA, la Marocaine Souad MOUTKADIRI a terminé 1ère pilote Africaine avec son CAN AM, alors que les Italiens Giulio VERZELETTI et Giuseppe FORTUNA ont empoché la victoire en Camion -10000 CC sur leur MERCEDES. Enfin, les Italiens Stefano ROSSI et Jacopo CASINI ont reçu le trophée du Véhicule Expérimental sur un NISSAN fonctionnant à l’Hydrogène alors que Eric et Grégoire COQUIDE ont gagné la catégorie OPEN, également sur NISSAN.
Comment ne pas honorer aussi le Vétéran de la course Yoshimasa SUGAWARA, légende de la discipline et finisher, à 83 ans, sur un véhicule construit de ses propres mains.
Dans la course Classic, les Belges Tom et Eric CLAEYS se sont vu remettre le trophée des
vainqueurs devant leurs compatriotes René DECLERCQ et John DEMEESTER alors que l’Autrichien Peter BRABECK-LEMATHE et le Français Jean Michel GAYTE ont complétés le podium.
La cérémonie au Lac Rose a également été l’occasion de faire défiler sur le podium la cinquantaine de véhicules du Raid auto et moto afin d’offrir aux participants une médaille souvenir.
Le dernier moment fort de cette AFRICA ECO RACE 2024 a été la photo finale des 160 membres de l’équipe d’organisation et prestataires. Comme de nombreux concurrents, tous ont promis d’être présents pour l’édition 2025!
CLOSING MOMENT OF THE AFRICA ECO RACE 2024
This Sunday, January 14, 2024, as tradition dictates since the creation of the AFRICA ECO RACE, the 15th edition concluded at Lac Rose in Dakar. A true celebration, this parade of winners and finishers on the podium was organized by the Senegalese Auto Moto Federation, the host organization for this event. The ceremony was preceded by the traditional special stage at Lac Rose, a 22 km stretch from Niokob Beach to the mythical lake, where motorcycles, cars, and trucks still in the race completed the circuit. A final honorable battle that, however, surprises every year.
In the Motorcycle category, all the riders of the AFRICA ECO RACE 2024 decided to honor one of their own, the handicapped rider Nicola DUTTO. To do this, the bikers followed the Italian and his two guardian angels who accompanied him throughout the rally, allowing him to open and win this final timed sector. A way to pay tribute to this extraordinary athlete who covered almost 6000 km of the course strapped to his KTM equipped with a roll cage protecting his legs in case of a fall.
After the race, the top three overall riders, Italian Jacopo CERRUTI on APRILA also 1st in Multicylinders -1000 CC, his compatriot Alessandro BOTTURI also 1st Veteran, and Andorran Pol TARRES on YAMAHA, received magnificent bronze trophies. Subsequently, winners in different categories were also rewarded, including Swiss Alexandre VAUDAN 1st in under 450 CC, also 1st in the Acerbis Rookie Rider Challenge on KTM, Patrice CARILLON 1st in the Motul Xtreme Rider Chal
lenge on KTM, Italian Giovanni STIGLIANO 1st in over 450 CC on HUSQVARNA, Spaniard Juan PEDRERO 1st in Multicylinders over 1000 CC on HARLEY DAVIDSON, not forgetting the British Vanessa RUCK, the first female rider on KTM. Finally, all finishing riders received a bronze medal symbolizing the feat of staying in the rankings.
On four wheels, Frenchmen Gautier PAULIN and Remi BOULANGER, overall winners, logically were the first to place their SSV APACHE on the podium to receive the two bronze trophies and the two trophies in the SSV T3 U category. Next were the Belgians Pascal FERYN and Kurt KEYSERS, 2nd in the Rally and 1st in the 4×4 Petrol category on their TOYOTA, while in 3rd position, Spaniards Carlos VENTO and Carlos RUIZ MORENO also led the CAN AM to victory in T4.
Czech Tomas TOMECEK was rewarded for his 5th victory in the truck category driving his TATRA. Frenchmen Frédéric HENRICY and Eric BERSEY emerged victorious in the SSV EXTREME RACE challenge on POLARIS, Dutchmen Teun STAM and Rene BARGEMAN won in 4×4 Diesel on TOYOTA, Moroccan Souad MOUTKADIRI finished as the first African female rider with her CAN AM, while Italians Giulio VERZELETTI and Giuseppe FORTUNA clinched victory in the Truck -10000 CC category on their MERCEDES. Finally, Italians Stefano ROSSI and Jacopo CASINI received the Experimental Vehicle trophy on a NISSAN powered by Hydrogen, while Eric and Grégoire COQUIDE won the OPEN category, also on NISSAN. Also, not to forget to honor the race veteran Yoshimasa SUGAWARA, a l
egend in the discipline and finisher at 83, driving a vehicle he built with his own hands.
In the Classic race, Belgians Tom and Eric CLAEYS were awarded the winners’ trophy ahead of their compatriots René DECLERCQ and John DEMEESTER, while Austrian Peter BRABECK-LEMATHE and Frenchman Jean Michel GAYTE completed the podium.
The ceremony at Lac Rose also featured a parade of around fifty vehicles from the auto and motorcycle raid on the podium to present participants with a souvenir medal.
The final highlight of the AFRICA ECO RACE 2024 was the group photo of the 160 members of the organizing team and service providers. Like many competitors, all pledged to be present for the 2025 edition!
MOMENTO DI CHIUSURA DELL’AFRICA ECO RACE 2024
Questo domenica, 14 gennaio 2024, come tradizione impone sin dalla creazione dell’AFRICA ECO RACE, si è conclusa la 15ª edizione al Lac Rose a Dakar. Una vera festa, questo corteo di vincitori e concorrenti sul podio è stato organizzato dalla Federazione Auto Moto Senegalese, l’organizzazione ospitante per questo evento. La cerimonia è stata preceduta dalla tradizionale tappa speciale al Lac Rose, un tratto di 22 km dalla Spiaggia di Niokob al mitico lago, dove motociclette, auto e camion ancora in gara hanno completato il circuito. Una battaglia finale onorevole che, tuttavia, sorprende ogni anno.
Nella categoria Moto, tutti i piloti dell’AFRICA ECO RACE 2024 hanno deciso di onorare uno dei loro, il pilota disabile Nicola DUTTO. Per farlo, i motociclisti hanno seguito l’italiano ei suoi due angeli custodi che lo hanno accompagnato durante tutto il rally, consentendogli di aprire e vincere questo settore cronometrato finale. Un modo per rendere omaggio a questo straordinario atleta che ha percorso quasi 6000 km del percorso legato alla sua KTM dotata di una gabbia di protezione per le gambe in caso di caduta.
Dopo la gara, i primi tre piloti assoluti, l’italiano Jacopo CERRUTI su APRILA anche 1° in Multicylinders -1000 CC, il suo connazionale Alessandro BOTTURI anche 1° Veterano, e l’andorrano Pol TARRES su YAMAHA, hanno ricevuto magnifici trofei in bronzo. Successivamente, anche i vincitori nelle diverse categorie sono stati premiati, tra cui lo svizzero Alexandre VAUDAN 1° sotto i 450 CC, anche 1° nella Acerbis Rookie Rider Challenge su KTM, Patrice CARILLON 1° nella Motul Xtreme Rider Challenge su KTM, l’italiano Giovanni STIGLIANO 1° sopra i 450 CC su HUSQVARNA, lo spagnolo Juan PEDRERO 1° in Multicylinders oltre 1000 CC su HARLEY DAVIDSON, senza dimenticare la britannica Vanessa RUCK, la prima pilota donna su KTM. Infine, tutti i piloti che hanno completato la gara hanno ricevuto una medaglia di bronzo a simboleggiare l’impresa di 
rimanere in classifica.

I francesi Frédéric HENRICY ed Eric BERSEY sono emersi vittoriosi nella sfida SSV EXTREME RACE su POLARIS, i olandesi Teun STAM e Rene BARGEMAN hanno vinto nel 4×4 Diesel su TOYOTA, la marocchina Souad MOUTKADIRI è stata la prima pilota donna africana con il suo CAN AM, mentre gli italiani Giulio VERZELETTI e Giuseppe FORTUNA hanno conquistato la vittoria nella categoria Truck -10000 CC sul loro MERCEDES. Infine, gli italiani Stefano ROSSI e Jacopo CASINI hanno ricevuto il trofeo del Veicolo Sperimentale su una NISSAN alimentata ad idrogeno, mentre Eric e Grégoire COQUIDE hanno vinto la categoria OPEN, anche su NISSAN. Da non dimenticare di onorare anche il veterano della gara Yoshimasa SUGAWARA, una leggenda della di
sciplina e finisher a 83 anni, guidando un veicolo da lui costruito con le proprie mani.
Nella gara Classica, i belgi Tom ed Eric CLAEYS hanno ricevuto il trofeo dei vincitori davanti ai loro connazionali René DECLERCQ e John DEMEESTER, mentre l’austriaco Peter BRABECK-LEMATHE e il francese Jean Michel GAYTE hanno completato il podio.
La cerimonia al Lac Rose ha visto anche un corteo di circa cinquanta veicoli dell’auto e moto raid sul podio per consegnare ai partecipanti una medaglia ricordo.
Il momento culminante finale dell’AFRICA ECO RACE 2024 è stata la foto di gruppo dei 160 membri del team organizzativo e dei fornitori di servizi. Come molti concorrenti, tutti si sono impegnati a essere presenti per l’edizione del 2025!
