WHAT A SUCCESS FOR THE OPENING EVENT OF THE SWISS KART CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE 7 LAGHI CIRCUIT OF PAVIA!
THE EVENT WAS ORGANIZED BY KART PRMOTION. WINS FOR AMWEG (125 SPORT), JORG (JUNIOR), VON AESCH (KF2), ANNIKA LUNDIN (KF3), FALCITI (KZ2), HAXHIU (SUPERMINI).
Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia – Italy), 18th April 2010. Quite a lot of entrants for the first event of the Swiss Kart Championship on the 7 Laghi Circuit at Catelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia – Italy): 75 drivers coming from Switzerland, Italy, France, Austria divided into 6 different categories – KF2, KF3, KZ2, 125 Sport, Junior and Supermini.
Organized by Kart Promotion and by its Chairwoman Claudia Galli, the event was so perfect in every single detail that the Swiss karting Committee Chairman, Mr Stefan Meier – who was present at the event-, praised the organization publicly.
Despite the bad weather conditions which conditioned the beginning of the weekend – Saturday was rather rainy -, on Sunday drivers were able to run on a dry track and the result was a gripping, spectacular competition raced at full throttle in all the categories.
Lewin Amweg (Tony Kart-Rok GP) won the 125 sport category, leading since the qualifying practice and then winning the two heats and the final, arriving before Patrick Näscher and Isabella Von Lerber who got onto the other two steps of the category podium. Kevin Jörg (Top Kart-Vortex) was the winner of the junior category, David Miccoli was the runner up and Pascal Cairget got the third place.
In KF2, Yves Von Aesch (Swiss Hutless-Iame) won the category arriving at the chequered flag before Pascal Eberle with an advantage of three seconds. The third place battle was won by Marc Freimann with a good recovery.
In KF3, in the end it was Annika Lundin (Tony Kart-Vortex) who managed to get onto the first step of the podium, because Mathéo Tuscher – winner of last year’s race – and Severin Amweg , who had came in first and second respectively, were disqualified for technical irregularities. So the second and third steps of the podium were occupied by Fedrico Romano and Alain Valente.
In the most performing category, KZ2, the Italian driver from Parma Cristiano Falciti (Maranello-Tm) dominated the race. He held a wide lead against the runner up Marco Bellanca and Sébastien Luisier.
Among the youngest, in the Supermini category, Gjergi Haxhiu (Swiss Hutless-Iame) won by the skin of his teeth after a gripping race, with a 2 tenth of a second lead over Fabienne Wohlwend. Michael Müller came in third.
