La Righetti Ridolfi ha deciso d’investire in maniera decisa nel proprio Reparto Corse in vista del nuovo anno. Una rivoluzione che tocca piloti, direttori sportivi, tecnici e attrezzature. Per essere protagonisti anche nelle migliori piste internazionali…
Not long ago, while talking about the return to racing of Righetti Ridolfi, Giampaolo Righetti, the Administrative manager of the group, promised: “If we return to racing, we are doing so to do well. To get some satisfying results…”. Now, after the inevitable difficult initial year (which offered some unexpected affirmations anyway), they look ahead: in fact Righetti Ridolfi, world leader in the production of kart accessories, is looking beyond the crisis and is investing heavily with the intention of exponentially improving it’s racing department in view of the 2010 season.
THE FIRST INDISCRETIONS
“We have been getting organised for the next season for some time. There are some races that we didn’t compete in this year and which we would like to take part in as protagonists. For example we will definitely take part in all the CIK-FIA competitions: European, World Cup and World Championship”, Giampaolo Righetti told us. Without excluding participation in the next WSK Championship. Even if in this case it is more of a business project: “To participate and maybe get some satisfying results in WSK would without doubt be a marvellous result, but we need to evaluate if from a commercial point of view and decide if it would be better to race in this prestigious competition or the national Championships in Spain and France”. Maybe also choosing with which kart to affront these Championships. Whether to use the Mac Minarelli in France and the Gold Kart in Spain. Or vice versa: “In the respective national Open Masters it is possible we would have a more specific visibility, even if, maybe, a lesser visibility. We would be able to attack those markets with more suitable products for each market”, concluded Giampaolo Righetti.
THE TEAM
The starting point for forming the team? “We have just purchased the truck”, he said jokingly (but leaving us with no doubt that the project has already started). The team will be composed of a maximum of 4 or 5 drivers in different categories, a team of reliable mechanics who have been working with us for some time, a technical director, a sporting director and a telemetry expert. No names for now: “We are talking to several drivers, we have already reached an agreement with a top sports director and an equally great telemetry expert, but it is too early to give names: for sure I will always be under the tent”. The categories in which the company from Sona (Verona) will definitely be committed will be KZ1 and KZ2, while the decision with regards to the KF categories will be taken based on the drivers that are found: “I would like to do KF3 with a young driver who can grow”, added Righetti. The search for an engine deal is on, while with regards to the drivers, there are no characteristic that can direct the choice towards one driver or another. We only have one request: “He must always be ready to be self critical, just like the whole team. The only thing that never makes a mistake is an object: the telemetry. And the driver will have to listen to what the telemetry has to say”.
CONCLUSIONS
The families investment in the racing department for next season is an important one: it will cover xx% of the company turnover: “Because we believe this is the right moment to return to the world of racing with decision and conviction. To win, to increase our visibility in karting and to better develop the karts in which we really believe”.
The curtain of this new adventure has not yet risen completely, but the first bricks have been put into place. Now we just have to wait to see who will be part of the team…
