In the Wild, Wild West anything goes.
The same could be said for the upcoming O’Reilly Auto Parts Thunder Jam as the outlaws of the most exciting thrill show on the planet invade Edinburg International Racetrack March 28 at 7 p.m.
“We are heading west and we couldn’t be more excited. Race fans at Edinburg don’t know what we have in store for them this year,” said Thunder Jam Operations Manager Jim Marchyshyn. “Every year this show just keeps getting better and with the lineup we have in store for 2009 we expect another record-shattering year.”
When the O’Reilly Thunder Jam rolls into town, everyone knows about it – whether they like it or not. Like a scene from a Hollywood blockbuster, the sky will light up and the earth will shake when the baddest, most exciting exhibition vehicles in the world take the stage in south Texas next weekend.
And there is no badder vehicle on earth than the “Shockwave” jet semi.
The 20,000 horsepower monster will dazzle the crowd with its spectacular display of thunder and fire, an event that must be witnessed to be believed.
“Simply put, there is nothing that compares to seeing one of these jet semis in action. From the 20 foot flames to the earth shattering launch, these vehicles simply take your breath away,” Marchyshyn added.
And “Shockwave” is only part of the show O’Reilly Thunder Jam has in store.
Back by popular demand, the world’s only wheelstanding school bus – “The Cool Bus” – will once again try to keep its headlights pointing due North with a length-of-the-track wheelie accompanied by sparks, fire and the roar of the most powerful school bus engine ever assembled.
Add in a few cackling, out of control fuel altereds, including “The Punisher” and Fast Donnie McSwain, free pit passes and much, much more and you have one event that simply can’t be missed.
If you purchase your tickets in advance at participating O’Reilly Auto Parts stores you can take advantage of an amazing deal. Just buy your adult ticket for $20 and get a 12-and-under kid’s ticket for free. Fans can also pick up a $5 adult discount coupon at all Cricket Communications stores. And, as always, parking and all-access pit passes are free.
“We emphasize affordable family entertainment and value with Thunder Jam,” Marchyshyn said. “We know our fans work hard for their money and we strive to provide them with a great show at an unbeatable price.”
